The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
One of the few Films that I've ever seen in which the squeal is better then the first Film. MUCH BETTER actually. Now I had said that (In my opinion) the fist one was good, but a let down. One of the problems that I had with the last Film is that the Film was very slow for me and I got bored and tired a few times while watching it. "Catching Fire" pretty much fixes that problem I had with the first Film. So I was NEVER once bored watching this. Jennifer Lawrence, after her Academy Award winning performance in "Silver Linings Playbook", returns to the squeal. The Film also features Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson also coming back from the first Film. "Catching Fire" also has Philip Seymour Hoffman (another Academy Award winner). Jennifer Lawrence, I think , plays her character much more well in "Catching Fire" because throughout this whole Film Lawrence is seen crying, angry, and just so emotional in this that you just start to be blown away of how much of a good job she's doing in this Film. Heck, she might even be nominated AGAIN for doing this Film. If she does get nominated next year for Best Actress then she'll just get the nomination, she'll loose to Sandra Bullock for "Gravity". So as much as I thought Lawrence was great in this I also thought that Philip Seymour Hoffman was great in this as well. Although he's only in this for about 30% of it, I thought that he was emotionally great in this to. I'm actually ironically mentioning two Academy Award winners. Everybody else in this was also great. I only notice one thing about "Catching Fire" that wasn't in the last Film, and that was the amount of humor in this Film. I think maybe the Producers wanted "Catching Fire" to be more entertaining for the much younger generation because about five or six times in this Film does it make you chuckle or laugh. It's not like a Marvel Film in which the humor was to be everywhere, but I think the humor is just so you can smile and enjoy this Film more then you probably did with the last Film. So I really don't have any problems with "Catching Fire", I thought that it was a really good and really emotionally acted Film. Now this won't change my Mind of what I thought of the first Film (Even though I gave it a positive review), but I really liked "Catching Fire" A LOT and I can't wait for the next Film. Spoiler Alert: The next Film is going to be split into two parts like the Harry Potter and Twilight Films and is going to be called "Mockingjay".
Also, I think the Producers wanted to avoid an R-rating for "Catching Fire" because during one scene, a Character starts to shout out profanity (The F-word twice) and it's actually bleeped. Well shit, if they bleeped out the cursing in that one scene then they should have at least put a giant CENSORED bar over another scene in which a Character is seen getting graphically whipped over and over again. There are just some things in this little World that I don't ever understand.
