Chronicle
Most Audiences are going to dismiss this Film because they dislikes how the Film depicts Teenagers. There also going to hate how intense and shockingly graphic it gets with all of the science fiction action and dark themes. But if you can just ignore all of those issues with the Film and just remind yourself that's it's all make-believe and fake, then you'll find "Chronicle" to be an awesome and entertaining Film as hell. "Chronicle" is shot found-footage style, like in "The Blair Witch Project" or "Paranormal Activity". Unlike those Films in which they where both horror Films, "Chronicle" is more of a thriller then a horror Film. Just like "The Silence of the Lambs". The Film is also shot using Cameras, Mall Cameras, iPhones, etc... what I thought was crazy was that when you see this Film, you really don't know who or how it was put together. You think that the government or whoever edited this whole thing together. Well anyway, the acting in this Film is pretty good. Especially by stars Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell, and Michael B. Jordan. Those three together were not only great and amazing to watch, but they give such good, realistic performances that you would think that "Chronicle" is a documentary then an actual Film. The Film is basically about those three, who are friends, discover some sort of rock or unknown object. And when they go near it, it grants them superpowers or and other abilities. And throughout most of the Film, we see them goofing around, being....well dicks, and causing a whole bunch of mischief. But then suddenly one of them starts to use there powers for more dark and evil purposes. Now the Film is INTENSE. I mean INTENSE. Don't let this Film's PG-13 fool you ("Chronicle" pretty much as an R-rating all over it) because when you watch this Film, it's just so freaking intense and pretty haunting at times. You see people getting beaten, getting killed, making-out, saying the word "shit" like a million times, and some pretty disturbing images. This is pretty much a toned-downed version of "Trainspotting" or "Sweet Sixteen" (But without most of the cursing or course). Graphic, haunting, but still a bit toned-down. So while the Film is not for everybody, I will say that you should check this Film out so it can entertain you and you can have a good, screwed-up time. The Film is also very memorable because it has a lot of memorable characters and situations (mostly when you see those three screw around with there powers that they get). So while "Chronicle" will most likely not win any awards at all (Don't forget the 84th Academy Awards are in a few weeks from February), it should at least get recognized by some and award it only some minor awards, like "Trailer-of-the-year" or "Best Fight Scene". So anyway, "Chronicle" may not be everyone's cup of Tea, but it will keep you entertained and haunted for days to come. I mean this whole review that your reading right know, I didn't write about until four days after I saw the Film. believe me......
