Red Tails
You need to know this; More than half of the Characters in this Film are one-dimensional, Talk in some of the most bizarre and clichéd dialogue imaginable ("I've never met a Girl as beautiful as this Plane" and "Let's give those Newspapers something to write about!" are good examples), Has one of the most silliest Poster tagline for ANY Film that came out in early 2012 ("Courage has no color"), The Cast here has mostly starred in either Comedies or gangster Films (Cuba Gooding Jr. and Rapper Method Man, who I don't think was in any gangster Films), and one of the Tuskegee Airmen here carries around a Picture of "Black Jesus" hoping that he will protect and guide him throughout the whole Film. That's just about it. Ridiculously Clichéd, badly acted, and pretty insulting to the real-life Tuskegee Airmen. Ok, first of all it seems that every time the Airmen finish there Battle with the Germans, after almost getting killed and losing some of there men, they seem to be pretty happy and excited. Shouldn't they be nervous and sad because......THEY WERE ALMOST KILLED AND LOST SOME OF THERE MEN! Second of all, this Script, written by John Ridley and Aaron McGruder (who is best known for creating the Adult Swim show "The Boondocks"), seems to go by EVERY War cliché that you can think of. Third, there are just so much other subplots that are happening in the Film that it actually loses focus on what the Film is trying to do. The Film wants to be contributing to the real life Tuskegee Airmen who fought in 1944 but so much else is going on (Like this one Subplot of one of the Airmen trying to get together with an Italian Women but can't because he can't speak Italian). OBVIOUSLY they deserve better than this! and Fourth, are there ridiculous Nicknames that they have in this Film (Captain Martin "Easy", Lighting, Ray Gun, Smokey Joker, etc.). It's just so dumb. The Acting in this Film is really bad because NOBODY seems to be trying very hard in this, not even Cuba Gooding Jr. who was GREAT in "Jerry Maguire". But here he's stripped off his pride. If George Lucas (The Film's producer) really wanted to get this Film Financed and made then he should have REALLY just stuck to getting "Star Wars 7" into production because THIS right here is pretty insulting to not only the Tuskegee Airmen but also to anybody else's intelligence out there. If you honestly considered celebrating black history Month by seeing this Film then you have made one of the worst mistakes of your life.
