Dallas Buyers Club
Rating: 3/4
If you easily get sad, emotional, or cry like crazy watching certain kinds of Films like "12 Years a Slave" then I suggest that you go see something else because in "Dallas Buyers Club" you'll just be so sad by the time this Film ends that you'll just think to yourself, "What was more sadder this or 12 Years a Slave?". Actually, in "12 Years a Slave", you'll cry so much that you'll just die (literally) of a broken Heart right after the Film ends. Anyway, "Dallas Buyers Club" is a good Film, but not a great one (well, in my opinion). The reason I say this is because while the Film had a great story, with a great Script, and -- Best of all -- great acting by stars Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto (along with Jennifer Garner), the Film, overall, felt a bit slow and at times, very, very emotional to the fact that while I was watching just felt flat-out sad. I mean, not the sad in which. I wanted to cry (even though I know that a lot of people will most likely do so when they see this Film), I mean the sad in which I felt a bit weird while watching this Film. And, no, I had no problem with the type of character that Jared Leto (who's probably best known for being the lead singer if the Band 30 Seconds to Mars) was playing in this. So, for two problems that I had with "Dallas Buyers Club", I would just like to say that Matthew McConaughey, along with Jared Leto, give two of there best performances of there carriers. McConaughey was just absolutely brilliant in this role because not only did he loose so much weight for this role (because he plays someone with AIDS), but he gave such a spirited performance in this that by the time this Film ends, you'll just want to stand up out of your Seats and just applaud him. Jared Leto, however, truly, truly stole the entire Film because as I just said that I had no problem with the role that he plays in this is because Leto plays a transvestite named Rayon, that befriends McConaughey's character, Ron Woodroof, in this. When you watch this Film you just think to yourself, "No way that this is Jared Leto". I was pretty much saying and thinking that to myself for pretty much this whole entire Film. Jared Leto's performance in this is probably one of the best "transformations" since Charlize Theron in "Monster or even Heath Ledger in "The Dark Knight". Maybe even better. Jennifer Garner was also good in this Film. So, while "Dallas Buyers Club" really is Jared Leto's Film, Matthew McConaughey is still better then ever in this and I think that him and Leto are two front runners to be nominated -- or even WIN -- the Academy Awards in 2014. So, if you get very saddened and emotional with Films like this, then I suggest you either go watch something else or if you have the Balls (the Platinum ones as I said in my review of "12 Years a Slave") to just suck it up, then go see this Film. I for one sucked it up and had Balls with this Film the whole two hour Film and did not cry a single time with it. And that's not even a bad thing at all. So, a good but slow moving Film with great acting by Matthew McConaughey and especially Jared Leto. So check it out
