The Grey
Rating: 3/4
Well, for those who can't handle graphic and intense scenes of Wolves (though obviously CGI) mauling people to death along with the aftermath of what happened to them -- In other words, not for the faint of Heart, I suggest you go see something else because many people will go see "The Grey" thinking that this is something completely different from what this film is about: After a Plane crash happens in Alaska stranding about five or six oil men, Liam Neeson leads the pack to survival while trying to avoid a family full of Wolves after them. However, many will think that the story for this film is really stupid because they'll probably think that the concept has been done before about a million times in the past. My advice, I suggest you actually see this film and think if it was going to be as stupid as you thought it was. I think that there's a good 50/50 chance that you'll be on the edge of you're Seat watching this film because the mood this film's in, the tone of it is so gripping and though-provoking that when you see at least the first forty minutes of this film, you'll just be shaking and maybe just horrified. Liam Neeson gives a very good performance in this film. Having done these kind of films like this before ("Taken", even "Schindler's List") in which he plays someone who wants to survive or find something to restore, or maybe just another kind of character I'm forgetting. Whatever it is, Neeson is still great in this film no matter what. As a matter a fact, he's pretty much the only person in this whole film that actually knows what he's doing, everyone else is just confused and scared. So, "The Grey" IS pretty much Liam Neeson's film. Nobody else. So, for those who are basically extremely squeamish, can't handle the amount of (very) graphic violence that this film has to offer, cease from seeing immediately and go watch something else, but for those who can, or are big fans of Liam Neeson pretty much playing the same role that he's done from before, then "The Grey" is a definite must-see. Thanks, of course, to the great performance from Neeson and how the film WILL have gripped and on the edge of your Seat all the way though.
