The Croods
A sweet, funny, well-acted Family Film. The Story is that the Film takes place in a fake World named, get this, "The Croodaceous". In this World lives an overprotected Caveman-like Father played by Nicolas Cage ("Leaving Las Vegas", "Raising Arizona", "Adaptation") with his Family Eep, played by Emma Stone ("Easy A", "Crazy, Stupid, Love."), Ugga, played by Catherine Keener ("Being John Malkovich", "Capote", "Into the Wild"), Thunk, played by Clarke Duke ("Kick-ass", "Hot Tub time Machine"), Gran, played by Cloris Leachman ("The last Picture show", "Spanglish") who I forgot to mention in the Cast, and there Baby Daughter named Sandy. They all live in a Cave. But one day some sort of earthquake happens and there all forced to try and get back in there Cave. When they fail at it though they all find out that there living in an entire World above there Cave. But then out of nowhere some Guy named, well, Guy, played by Ryan Reynolds ("Blade: Trinity", "The Green Lantern"), tells them that there World is about to be destroyed. So then they follow him along to get to safety on time before it's to late. The Story may sound a bit unoriginal but you pretty much forget about it and admire all of the animation in this Film. I'm not kidding, so far, this Film has some of the best, most beautiful, animation that you'll see in an animated Film. I highly suggest you see this in 3D because when you'll do prepare to be blown away. If James Cameron did back in 2009 with "Avatar" (ESPECIALLY in 3D) then I'm sure that DeMicco and Sanders will do the same with "The Croods". That's what I suggest. You also forget the Story by just appreciating The Voice acting work done by all of these People. "The Croods" is a big improvement over Nicolas Cage's last animated Films that he did Voice acting work for ("The Ant Bully" and "Astro Boy"). Emma Stone, who did some voice acting work on "Robot Chicken", was also pretty good and had a lot of fun voicing her character. Ryan Reynolds was also good voicing "Guy". He seemed like he was having a great time doing so. Everybody else was great in this to. Fun Fact: Co-Director Chris Sanders did the Voice of Guy's pet Sloth in the Film. So that's very interesting. There where a lot of very funny moments in the Film that kept me smiling a lot at it. Like in most Dreamworks Films. If you don't believe me go check out "Monsters vs. Aliens" or "How to train your Dragon" for more evidence. I had a smile in my Face in this whole Film so I thought it was very enjoyable. So although the Story is unoriginal the animation is absolutely superb and the Actors give great fun performances that'll keep Kids bouncing up and down in there Seats. A very fun, sweet little Film that I hope I see again. Your Kids to. So check it out.
