Rating: 3.5/4
Ted
You can nod, loathe, dismiss, judge, talk shit about, find it galling, call it lazy, call it one of the worst Film's of the year, and just flat out hate this Film in general (that's pretty much the same thing is as loathe with what I just said) but you're just hating another one of those Film's when there are those moments when you will fell guilty afterwards when you're finished laughing. Like in the past there were Films like "South Park", "Borat", or even "Freddy got Fingered". The Film may get a bit mean spirited at some points but then there are those moments where there actually are some lovely loyal moments where those dark moments are completely erased. The Film actually deals with friendship and honesty. The Film may get uneven at some points but if you think about "Family Guy" (The show in which Seth MacFarlane, The Director/Star/writer, created) it suffers from those issues as well. There are actually some VERY funny moments in the Film. Like the scene in which Ted gets a Job at a supermarket and then gets fired because he had sex with one of the employees (Even though he's a Teddy Bear) or another scene in which Ted literally gets into a full on brawl-fight with Mark Wahlberg which goes on for like 3 minutes in the Film. My only complaint with the Film is that the whole subject matter that they are dealing with (The whole Bromance vs. Romance plot) is WAY to familiar and has been done like a million times before in like a million other Films. But again it really shouldn't bother you because the Film is just so much more. Way more to be exact. Now the Film holds an R-rating at the MPAA for "Crude and sexual content, pervasive language and some Drug use" EVERYBODY in the World needs to remember that because this is NOT AT ALL Family entertainment! You're Kid may beg and beg to see this but at all circumstances do not! trust me. Hell, as a matter a fact one of the posters for "Ted" actually shows Ted himself holding an R-rating logo in his Hands. Another great thing about it is that it never runs out of steam. Seth MacFarlane actually has the time to pause the Film or breathe to calm the audience down for a while. That is until the Film cracks a joke about sex, religion, 9/11, or gays. Well to end this review I will say this: "Ted" is NOT for everybody so if you're goanna hate or talk shit about it just don't see it! Honestly! If you're just goanna rent this just to hate it go rent another Film like "Gigli" or "Alone in the Dark" instead. THOSE are Good Film's to hate about (I mean those two Film's ARE terrible!). So I thought this was a very funny, loyal, and cool Film. It's not for everyone but if you're JUST in the right mind you'll love it just as much as I did.
